| Incorporation Update! |
| I would like to say I am surprised by the outpouring of support with is STRONG!!!!! To everyone who has asked about sending dues and donations, I am taking steps to put a link on the site so they can be made through PayPal. Unfortunately, we're in a Catch 22. I need to file certain things to get to that point, and I just don't have the funds at this moment. As much as I hate to ask, if you are willing to help now, I could use it. I promise you that I will keep a full accounting of everything received and will even post it here if you want to see it. If you want to send something now, you can send it to me at the address on the left. Everything I've researched tells me it will be a while before we are eligible for tax any help you can provide. You all make me proud to be a Panther!!!!!!!! |
| I've taken the first step to our Incorporation. Shortly we will have our own Federal Tax ID # (see the AOSHS article to the right to see why). Our next step is to put together articles of incorporation, so we can get registered. Then we need to put together a Board of Directors, so everything can be approved. We may need to do some fund raising, to cover expenses. If anyone has suggestions, please let me know! |
| In order to open a business bank account we have to have a Federal Tax ID (which we now have) and meeting minutes on our own letterhead. On 1/21/09 we had a very impromptu meeting with those who popped in to the Hanau Friends Facebook chat room (thanks Doug and Karen for being available). For a copy of the minutes, click HERE . | So, guess what I got in the mail yesterday! Our Incorporation Papers!!!!!! How cool is that? We are now recognized in the State of Virginia as a Non-Profit and we have our Federal Tax ID number. The next step is to take all the paperwork to the bank, so they can do what they do, then file some paperwork with the government so we can be declared a Non-Profit. A couple more steps and we'll be able to set up our donation's button through PayPal! Exciting Stuff!!!!! |
